Cognitive Analytic Therapy Training in Wales

I cannot stress enough how helpful the course has been for my career. The course is delivered with infectious enthusiasm. You will gain not just knowledge but the confidence to use its practically to benefit others.

My experience of the Wales CAT practitioner course was excellent.  We had a very high standard of teaching, including eminent guest speakers, and the support was exemplary throughout.  We were invited to learn through a variety of methods, didactic teaching, supervision and discourse.

I thought the course was really helpful in terms of developing my knowledge and practice of CAT.  I liked that it was flexible/supportive and allowed me to practice with clients with LD (which is the area in which I work) and not just focus on adult mental health.  The staff team were really knowledgeable , experienced, supportive and very approachable throughout the course (and the disruptions with COVID)!

As someone who works mostly in learning disability services it was great to have the space and flexibility to think creatively about how to use CAT in different context and to adapt this for my clients.  What I have learnt through my CAT training is constantly being used in my job, individually with staff team and with my thinking and relating to the wider systems.

The support didn’t end when the course did either, if felt very much like joining a supportive community of practitioners devoted to delivering A* CAT intervention.  I would recommend the program to anyone who wants to become a confident and competent CAT practitioner.

I think probably the best thing about the course is the facilitators enthusiasm and commitment to CAT, there were some wildly inventive and fun sessions too and I finished the training completely loving CAT. There is nothing else quite like it.

The assessed parts of the course were well supported with additional individual supervision available. I thought the standard expected for the written work was just right, it felt challenging which I enjoyed and gave me the sense that I had achieved something that had real value.
